The name ‘Methusael’ is derived from ‘Mutos’ (ሙቶስ) and ‘Ale’ (አለ) ፥ the meaning is ‘died and alive’ / Ibid.

The son of Mehujael, fourth in descent from Cain, and father of Lamech, “... Mehujael begat Methusael: and Methusael begat Lamech.”  (Gen 4:18)
