Malchiah ~ መልክያ: Jehovah's king / EBD, (ኤር 38:1)

The root words for ‘Malchiah’ are ‘Melke’ (መልከ) and ‘yah’ (ያህ) ፥ the meaning is ‘Jehovah is king’/ Ibid.

A priest, the father of Pashur, “... the son of Malchiah, heard the words that Jeremiah had spoken unto all the people, saying,” (Jer 38:1)

መልክያ ~Malchiah, Malchijah, Melchiah: መልከ ያህ፣ ህያው አምላክ ፣ ጌታ እግዚአብሔር ማለት ነው። [ተዛማጅ ስሞች- መልኪኤል፣ ሚካኤል፣ ሚካያ፣ ሚክያስ]

‘መልከ’ እና ‘ያህ’ ከሚሉ ቃላት የተመሠረተ ስም ነው።

በዚህ ስም የሚታወቁ ስምንት ሰዎች አሉ።

I.                        መልክያ /Malchiah:

1.                  የጳስኮር አባት፥ መልክያ፥ “...የጳስኮርም ልጅ ጎዶልያስ፥ የሰሌምያም ልጅ ዮካል፥ የመልክያም ልጅ ጳስኮር ሰሙ።” (ኤር 38:1)

2.                  የጕድፍ መጣያውን በር ያደሰ፥ መልክያ፥  (ነህ 8:4)

3.                  ከወርቅ አንጥረኞቹ አንዱ፥ መልክያ፥ (ነህ 3:31)

4.                  የሬካብ ልጅ፥ መልክያ፥ (ነህ 3:14)

II.                        መልክያ /Malchijah:

1.                  በዳዊት ዘመን፣ ለመቅደሱ አገልግሎት በዕጣ ከተመደቡ፥ መልክያ፥  (1 ዜና 24:9)

2.                  በእግዚአብሔር ቤት ቁመው ከሚያመሰግኑ መካከል፥ መልክያ፥ (ነህ 12:42)

3.                  የካሪም ልጅ፥ መልክያ፥ “የካሪም ልጅ መልክያ፥ የፈሐት ሞዓብ ልጅም …” (ነህ 3:11)

III.                        መልክያ /Melchiah: የጳስኮር አባት፥ ካህኑ መልክያ፥ “ይህም የሆነው ንጉሡ ሴዴቅያስ። የባቢሎን ንጉሥ ናቡከደነፆር ይወጋናልና ስለ እኛ፥ እባክህ፥ እግዚአብሔርን ጠይቅ ከእኛም ይመለስ ዘንድ ምናልባት እግዚአብሔር ከእኛ ጋር እንደ ተአምራቱ ሁሉ ያደርግ ይሆናል ብሎ የመልክያን ልጅ ... ወደ ኤርምያስ በላከ ጊዜ ነው” (ኤር 21:1)
