Manna ~ መና: “Manna” means what is this? / SBD, (ዘጸ16:14-36)

The name ‘Manna’ is derived from ‘Mne’ (ምነ) ፥ the meaning is ‘what is this...’ / Ibid

The name given by the Israelites to the food miraculously supplied to them during their wanderings in the wilderness, “And when the children of Israel saw it, they said one to another, It is Manna: for them wist not what it was. And Moses said unto them, this is the bread which the Lord hath given you to eat” (Ex 16:15)

መና ~Manna: ምነ፣ ምነው፣ ምንድን ነው? ማለት ነው።

‘ምነ’ ከሚለው ቃል የተገኘ ስም ነው።

ከግብጽ ከወጡ በኋል የእስራኤላውያን ምግብ፥ እስራኤላውያን ያወጡለት ስም፥ “የእስራኤልም ልጆች ባዩት ጊዜ ያ ምን እንደ ሆነ አላወቁምና እርስ በእርሳቸው። ይህ ምንድር ነው? ተባባሉ። ሙሴም፦ ትበሉት ዘንድ እግዚአብሔር የሰጣችሁ እንጀራ ነው። የእስራኤልም ወገን ስሙን መና ብለው ...” (ዘጸ 16:15)
