The root words for ‘Mehetabel’ are ‘Mahtebe’ (ማህተበ) and ‘El’ (ኤል) ፥ the meaning is ‘the sign and the seal of the almighty lord’/ Ibid.

The daughter of Matred, and wife of Hadad king of Edom, “...and his wife's name was Mehetabel, the daughter of Matred ...” (Gen 36:39)

Mehetabeel- ‘ማሐተበ’ እና ‘ኤል’ ከሚሉ ሁለት ቃላት የተመሠረተ ስም ነው።

በዚህ ስም የሚታወቁ ሁለት ሰዎች አሉ። 

I.                        መሔጣብኤል /Mehetabeel: ነህምያ የኢየሩሳሌምን ቅጥር እንዳይሰራ ለማስፈራራት ጦብያና ሰንባላጥ ከላኩት፥ የድላያ አባት፥ የሸማያ ቅድመ አያት፥ መሔጣብኤል፥ “እኔም ወደ መሔጣብኤል ልጅ ወደ ድላያ ልጅ ወደ ሸማያ ቤት ገባሁ...” (ነህ 6:10)
