አብርሃም ~Abraham: አብ ራሃም፣ ታላቅ አባት፣ ከፍተኛ አባት፣ የብዙዎች አባት ማለት ነው።

እስማኤልን ከወለደ በኋላ፥ ይስሐቅን ከመውለዱ በፊት ስሙ ከአብራም ወደ አብርሃምነት ተቀየረ፥ “ከዛሬም ጀምሮ እንግዲህ ስምህ አብራም ተብሎ አይጠራ፥ ነገር ግን ስምህ አብርሃም ይሆናል ለብዙ አሕዛብ አባት አድርጌሃለሁና:” (ዘፍ 17:5)
