Abishag ~ አቢሳ: The name “Abishag” means ignorance of the father / HBN, (1 ነገ 1:3)

The name ‘Abishag’ is derived from two words ‘Abe’ (አበ) and ‘Shega’ (ሸጋ) ፥ the meaning is ‘great beauty’. It has the same meaning as ‘Abigail’/ Ibid.

A young woman of Shunem, distinguished for her beauty. She was chosen to minister to David in his old age. She became his wife, “...found Abishag a Shunammite, and brought her to the king.” (1 kin 1:3, 4, 15)

አቢሳ ~Abishag, Abishai: አቢ ሸግ፣ አብ ሸጋ፣ ትልቅ ሸጋ፣ በጣም ቆንጆ ማለት ነው። [ተዛማጅ ስም- አቢሱ]

Abishag- ‘አብ’ እና ‘ሸጋ’ ከሚሉ ቃላት የተመሠረተ ስም ነው።

በዚህ ስም የሚታወቁ ሁለት ሰዎች አሉ።

I.      አቢሳ /Abishag: የንጉሥ ዳዊት የመጬረሻ ሚስት፥ (1 ነገ 1:3)   

II.      አቢሳ /Abishai: ከዳዊት ወደ ሳኦል ወደ ሰፈሩ የወረደ፥ የንጉሥ ዳዊት እህት የጹርያ ልጅ፥ (1ሳሙ 26:6)
