Abigail ~ አቢጊያ:  A beautiful Shunammite / SBD, (1 ዜና 2:17)

The name ‘Abigail’ is derived from two words ‘Ab’ and ‘Gela’ (ገላ) ፥ the meaning is ‘great beauty’. It has the same meaning as ‘Abishag’ / Ibid.

A sister of David married to Jether the Ishmaelite, and mother, by him, of Amasa. “Whose sisters were Zeruiah, and Abigail and the sons of Zeruiah; ...” (1 Chr 2:17)

አቢጊያ ~Abigail: አቢጌል፣ አብ ገላ፣ ታላቅ ገላ፣ በጣም ቆንጆ፣ ታላቅ ውበት፣ በጣም ውብ ማለት ነው።

Abigail- ‘አብ’ እና ‘ገላ’ ከሚሉ ሁለት ቃላት የተመሠረተ ስም ነው።

በዚህ ስም የሚታወቁ ሁለት ሰዎች አሉ።

1.የእሴይ ልጅ፣ የዳዊት እህት፥ (1 ዜና 2:16 ፣ 17)

2.የናባል ሚስት፥ ናባል ሲሞት ንጉሥ ዳዊት አገባት፥ “የሰውዮውም ስም ናባል፥ የሚስቱም ስም አቢግያ ነበረ የሴቲቱም አእምሮ ታላቅ፥ ...” (1 ሳሙ 25:3)
