Abishai ~ አቢሳ: “Abishai” means father of a gift / SBD, (1 ሳሙ 26:6)

The name ‘abishua’ is derived from ‘Ab’ (አበ) and ‘Shiwa’ (ሽዋ)፥ The meaning is ‘father of thousands’ / Ibid

“Then answered David and said to Ahimelech the Hittite, and to Abishai the son of Zeruiah, brother to Joab, saying, ....” (1 Sam 26:6)

አቢሳ ~Abishag, Abishai: አቢ ሸግ፣ አብ ሸጋ፣ ትልቅ ሸጋ፣ በጣም ቆንጆ ማለት ነው። [ተዛማጅ ስም- አቢሱ]

Abishag- ‘አብ’ እና ‘ሸጋ’ ከሚሉ ቃላት የተመሠረተ ስም ነው።

በዚህ ስም የሚታወቁ ሁለት ሰዎች አሉ።

I.      አቢሳ /Abishag: የንጉሥ ዳዊት የመጬረሻ ሚስት፥ (1 ነገ 1:3)   

II.      አቢሳ /Abishai: ከዳዊት ወደ ሳኦል ወደ ሰፈሩ የወረደ፥ የንጉሥ ዳዊት እህት የጹርያ ልጅ፥ (1ሳሙ 26:6)
