The name ‘Abiah’ is derived from two words ‘Ab’ (አብ) and ‘Yah’ (ያህ) ፥ the meaning is ‘Jehovah is father’ / Ibid.

“Now the name of his firstborn was Joel; and the name of his second, Abiah: they were judges in Beersheba” (1 Sam 8:2); (1 Chr 7:8)

‘አብ’ እና ያህ’(ያህዌ ፣ ህያው) ከሚሉ ቃላት የተመሠረተ ስም ነው።

1.የነብዮ ሳሙኤል ልጅ፥ “የበኵር ልጁም ስም ኢዮኤል፥ የሁለተኛውም ስም አብያ ነበረ። እነርሱም በቤርሳቤህ ይፈርዱ ነበር” (1ሳሙ 8:2)

2.ከብኒያም ወገን፣ የቤኬር ልጅ፥ (1 ዜና 7፡8)

II.      አብያ /Abijah:

1.ከአልዓዛር ወገን፥ “ስምንተኛው ለአብያ፥ ዘጠኝኛው ለኢያሱ፥” (1 ዜና 24፡11)

2.የሮብዓም ልጅ፥ (2 ዜና 12:16) ፣ (1 ነገ 4:21)

3.የኢዮርብዓም ልጅ የመጀመሪያው፥ (1 ነገ 14:1)

4.የኢዮርብዓም ልጅ፥ (ነህ 12:4 ፣ 17) ፣ (1 ዜና 24:10) ፣ (2 ዜና 8:14)

5.በነህምያ ዘመን የነበረ  ካህን፥ (ነህ 10:7)
