The name ‘Meshullam’ is derived from ‘Me’Salem’ (መ’ሳለም) ፥ the meaning is ‘peaceable’ / Ibid.

ሜሱላም ~Meshelemiah, Meshullam, Meshullemeth: መሳለመ ያህ፣ የህያው ሰላም፣ ያምላክ ሰላም፣ የህያው እርቅ ማለት ነው። [ተዛማጅ ስም- ሜሶላም]

‘መሳለም’ (ሰላም)  እና ‘ያህ’ (ያህዌ ፣ ህያው) ከሚሉ ሁለት ቃላት  የተመሠረተ ስም ነው።

I.                        ሜሱላም /Meshelemiah: የየሕዜራ አባት፥ ሜሱላም ፥ “የሜሱላም ልጅ ዘካርያስ የመገናኛው ድንኳን ደጅ በረኛ ነበረ።” (1ዜና 9:21)

II.                        ሜሱላም /Meshullam:

1.                  በይሁዳ ንጉሥ በኢዮአታም ዘመንና በእስራኤል ንጉሥ በኢዮርብዓም ዘመን፥ ከሰባቱ የአባቶቻቸው ቤቶች ወንድም፥ ሜሱላም፥ (1 ዜና 5:13)

2.                  የየሕዜራ አባት፥ የምሺላሚት ልጅ፥ ሜሱላም፥ (1 ዜና  9:21)

3.                  የፈዳያ ልጅ ሁኖ የዘሩባቤል ልጅ፥ ሜሱላም፥  (1 ዜና 3:19)
