Mahalath ~ ማዕሌት: “Mahalath” means stringed instrument / SBD, (ዘፍ 28:9)

The root word for ‘Mahalath’ is ‘Mahalet’ (ማሃለት) ፥ the meaning is ‘crying to the lord almigthy’/ Ibid.

The daughter of Ishmael, and third wife of Esau (Gen 28:9), called also Bashemath (Gen 36:3); “Then went Esau unto Ishmael, and took unto the wives which he had Mahalath the daughter of Ishmael ...” (Gen 28:9)

The other person with the same name: The daughter of Jerimoth, who was one of David's sons, She was one of Rehoboam's wives (2 Chr 11:18)
