Kemuel ~ ቀሙኤል: The name “Kemuel” means God hath raised up, or established him / HBN, (ዘፍ 22:21)

The root words for ‘Kemuel’ are ‘Qomu’ (ቆሙ) and ‘El’ (ኤል) ፥ the meaning is ‘who stands with the almigth lord’/ Ibid.

The son of Nahor by Milcah, and father of Aram, “Huz his firstborn, and Buz his brother, and Kemuel the `father of Aram;” (Gen 22:21)

Other people with the same name are: Son of Shiphtan, appointed on behalf of the tribe of Ephraim to partition the land of Canaan, (Num 34:24); A Levite (1 Chr 27:17)

ቀሙኤል ~Kemuel: ቆመ ኤል፣ ቆመ አምላክ፣ በአምላክ የቆመ፣ በእምነት የጸና ማለት ነው። [ተዛማጅ ስሞች- ቁሚ፣ አኪቃም፣ አዶኒቃም፣ ኢዮአቄም፣ ዓዝሪቃም፣ ኤልያቄም፣ ያቂም፣ ዮቂም፣ ዮአቂም]

‘ቆመ’ እና ‘ኤል’ ከሚሉ ቃላት የተመሠረተ ስም ነው።

በዚህ ስም የሚታወቁ ሦስት ሰዎች አሉ።

1.                  የአብርሃም ወንድም፣ የናኮር ልጅ፥ ቀሙኤል፥ “...የአራም አባት ቀሙኤል፥” (ዘፍ 22:21)

2.                  እግዚአብሔር በከነዓን ምድር ለእስራኤል ልጆች ርስታቸውን ይከፍሉ ዘንድ ካዘዛቸው፥ ቀሙኤል፥ (ዘኁ 34:24)

3.                  የእስራኤልም ልጆች የአባቶች ቤቶች አለቆችና የሺህ አለቆች የመቶ አለቆች በየክፍሎች፥ አንዱ ቀሙኤል፥ (1 ዜና 27:17)
