Lakum ~ ለቁም: “Lakum” means fortification / SBD, (ኢያ 19:33)

The name ‘Lakum’ is derived from ‘Le’qum’ (ለ’ቁም) ፥ the root word is ‘Qome’ (ቆመ) ፥ the meaning is ‘to resist’/ Ibid

Properly formed the landmarks of the boundary of Naphtali, “And their coast was from Heleph, from Allon to Zaanannim, and Adami, Nekeb, and Jabneel, unto Lakum; and the outgoings thereof were at Jordan:” (Jos 19:33)

ለቁም ~Lakum: ለመቆም፣ ለመነሳት፣ ለመጽናት፣ ለመመከት ማለት ነው።

‘ቆመ’ ከሚለው ግስ የመጣ ስም ነው። [ተዛማጅ ስሞች- ቁሚ፣ ቀሙኤል፣ አኪቃም፣ አዶኒቃም፣ ኢዮአቄም፣ ዓዝሪቃም፣ ኤልያቄም፣ ያቂም፣ ዮቂም፣ ዮአቂም]

ለንፍታሌም ልጆች ነገድ ርስት የተሰጠ፥ የቦታ ስም፥ “ድንበራቸውም ...ከየብኒኤል እስከ ለቁም ድረስ ነበረ መውጫውም በዮርዳኖስ ነበረ።” (ኢያ 19:33)
