Libya ~ ሊቢያ: The name “Libya” means the heart of the sea; fat / HBN, (ሥራ 2:10)

The name ‘Libya’ is derived from ‘Lbe’ (ልበ) and ‘Yah’ (ያህ) ፥ the meaning is ‘the heart of Jehovah’ / Ibid.

It is applied by the Greek and Roman writers to the African continent, generally, however, excluding Egypt, “Phrygia, and Pamphylia, in Egypt, and in the parts of Libya about Cyrene, and strangers ...” (Act 2:10)

‘ልብ’ እና ‘ያህ’ ከሚሉ ቃላት የተገኘ ያገር ስም ነው።

በሰሜን ምሥራቅ አፍሪቃ የሚግኝ ግዛት (ግብጽን ሳይጨምር) ፥ “...በግብፅም በቀሬናም በኩል ባሉት በሊቢያ ወረዳዎች የምንኖር...” (ሥራ 2:10)
