Lama ~ ላማ: Hebrew word meaning why / EBD, (ማቴ 27:46)

The name ‘Lama’ is derived from ‘Leme’ (ለም) ፥ the root word is ‘Lemen’ (ለምን) ፥ the meaning is ‘why...?’/ Ibid

“And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? That is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?” (Mat 27:46)

ላማ ~Lama: ለምን፣ ለምንድን ነው፣ ስለ ምን ማለት ነው።

ጌታ በመስቀል ላይ ሁኖ ከተናገራቸው ቃላት፥ “በዘጠኝ ሰዓትም ኢየሱስ፦ ኤሎሄ ኤሎሄ ላማ ሰበቅታኒ? ብሎ በታላቅ ድምፅ ጮኸ። ይህም። አምላኬ አምላኬ፥ ስለ ምን ተውኸኝ? ማለት ነው።” (ማቴ 27:46)
