Regem-melech ~ ሬጌሜሌክ: friend of the king / SBD, (ዘካ 7:2)

The root words for ‘Regem-melech’ are ‘Rege’ (ረጅ) and ‘Melak’ (መላክ) ፥ the meaning is ‘assistant and councilor’/ Ibid.

“When they had sent unto the house of God Sherezer and Regemmelech, and their men, to pray before the LORD,” (Zec 7:2)

ሬጌሜሌክ ~Regem-melech: ረጅ መላክ፣ ተራዳይ፣ አጋዥ፣ የንጉሥ ተጠሪ፣ ረዳት መልክተኛ ማለት ነው።

‘ረጅ’ እና ‘መላክ’ ከሚሉ ሁለት ቃላት የተመሠረተ ነው።

ነብዩ ዘካርያስ ወደ እግዚአብሔር ከላካቸው፥ “የቤቴልም ሰዎች ሳራሳርንና ሬጌሜሌክን ሰዎቻቸውንም በእግዚአብሔር ፊት ይለምኑ ዘንድ፥” (ዘካ 7:2)
