Peter ~ ጴጥሮስ: “Peter” means a rock or stone / SBD, (ማቴ 4:18)

The name ‘Peter’ is derived from ‘Pater’ (ፓተር) ፥ the meaning is ‘father’ / Ibid.

The son of a man named Jonas, “And Jesus, walking by the sea of Galilee, saw two brethren, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea: for they were fishers.” (Mat 4:18)
