Pathros ~ ጳትሮስ: “Pathros” means region of the south / SBD, (ኢሳ 11:11)

The name ‘Pathros’ is derived from ‘Pater’ (ፓተር) and ‘Ras’ (ራስ)፥ the meaning is ‘head of fathers’ / Ibid.

‘ከአርባ ዓመት በኋላ እስራኤላውያንን፣ ከተበተኑባቸው አሕዛብ ዘንድ እሰበስባለሁ፣’ ብሎ በተናገረው ትንቢት የተጠቀሰ የቦታ ስም፥ “በዚያም ቀን እንዲህ ይሆናል የቀረውን የሕዝቡን ቅሬታ ከአሦርና ከግብጽ፥ ከጳትሮስና ከኢትዮጵያ፥ ከኤላምና ከሰናዖር ከሐማትም፥ ከባሕርም ደሴቶች ይመልስ ዘንድ ጌታ እንደ ገና እጁን ይገልጣል።” (ኢሳ 11:11)
