Omri ~  ዖምሪ: Servant of Jehovah / EBD; “Omri” means pupil of Jehovah / SBD, (1 ነገ 16:15-27)

The name ‘Omri’ is derived from ‘O’Mari’ (ማሪ) ፥ the meaning is ‘foregiver’/ Ibid.

“And ... all Israel made Omri, the captain of the host, king over Israel ...” (1 Kin 16:15-27)

Other people with the same name are: One of the sons of Becher the son of Benjamin (1 Chr 7:8); A descendant of Pharez the son of Judah, (1 Chr 9:4); Son of Michael, and chief of the tribe of Issachar in the reign of David (1 Chr 27:18)
