The name ‘Geder’ is derived from ‘Gedere’ (ገደረ)

The meaning is ‘makes wall’ / Ibid.

The king of Geder was one of the thirty-one kings who were overcome by Joshua on the west of the Jordan. “The king of Debir, one; the king of Geder, one;” (Jos 12:13, 14); (1 Chr 4:39)

‘ገደረ’ ከሚለው ግስ የመጣ ስም ነው።
