The name ‘Gaddi’ is derived from ‘Gedie’ (ገዴ) ፥ the meaning is ‘my fortunate; my luck’ / Ibid.

The representative of the tribe of Manasseh among the twelve "spies" sent by Moses to spy the land, “Of the tribe of Joseph, namely, of the tribe of Manasseh, Gaddi the son of Susi” (Num 13:11)

በዚህ ስም የሚታወቁ ሁለት ሰዎች አሉ ።

I.                        ጋዲ /Gaddi: የሱሲ ልጅ፥ የከነዓን ምድር እንዲሰልሉ ሙሴ ከላካቸው የምናሴ ወገን፥“ከዮሴፍ ነገድ እርሱም የምናሴ ነገድ የሱሲ ልጅ ጋዲ” (ዘኁ 13፡11)
