Eziongaber ~ ዔጽዮንጋብር: “Eziongaber” means giant's backbone / SBD, (ዘኁ 33፡35)

The root words for ‘Eziongaber’ are ‘Zion’ (ጽዮን) and ‘Gebre’ (ገብር) ፥ The meaning is ‘servant of zion’/ Ibid.

The last station named for the encampment of the Israelites before they came to the wilderness of Zin, “And they departed from Ebronah, and encamped at Eziongaber...” (Num 33:35; Deut 2:8)

ዔጽዮንጋብር ~Eziongaber: ጽዬን ገብር፣ ገብረ ጽዬን፣ የጽዮን አገልጋይ፣ መመኪያ ማለት ነው።

‘ጽዮን’ እና ‘ገብር’ ከሚሉ ሁለት ቃላት የተመሠረተ ስም ነው።

የእስራኤልም ልጆች ጕዞ ከሙሴና ከአሮን እጅ በታች በጭፍሮቻቸው ከግብፅ በወጡ ጊዜ፥ ያለፉበት የቦታ ስም፥ “ከዔብሮናም ተጕዘው በዔጽዮንጋብር ሰፈሩ።” (ዘኁ 33፡35)
