The name ‘Garden’ is derived from ‘Gard’ (ጋርድ) and ‘Den’ (ደን) ፥ The root words are ‘garede’ (ጋረደ) and ‘den’ (ደን) ፥ The meaning is ‘enclosures by trees’ / Ibid.

Planted with various trees and shrubs, “And the LORD God planted a garden eastward in Eden; and ...” (Gen 2:8, 9)
