Hananeel ~ ሐናንኤል: Hananeel” means whom God graciously gave / SBD, (ነህ 3፡1)

The root words for ‘Hananeel’ are ‘Henene’ (ሐነነ) and ‘El’ (ኤል)፥ The meaning is ‘performed by the almighty’/ Ibid.

The tower of, a tower which formed part of the wall of Jerusalem, “Then Eliashib the high priest rose up with his brethren the priests, and they builded the sheep gate; they sanctified it, and set up the doors of it; even unto the tower of Meah they sanctified it, unto the tower of Hananeel.” (Neh 3:1; 12:39)

‘ሐናን’ እና ‘ኤል’ ከሚሉ ሁለት ቃላት የተመሠረተ ስም ነው።

በኢየሩሳሌም ቅጥር አቅራቢያ የነበረ የግንብ መጠሪያ፥ “...እስከ ሃሜአ ግንብና እስከ ሐናንኤል ግንብ ድረስ ቀደሱት።” (ነህ 3፡1)
