The name ‘Tobadonijah’ is derived from ‘Tsub’ (ጹብ), ‘Dany’ (ዳኝ) and ‘Yah’ (ያህ) ፥ the meaning is ‘the goodness of the judgement of Jehovah’ /

በንጉሥ ኢዮሳፍጥ ዘመን የእግዚአብሔርን የሕጉን መጽሐፍ ይዘው በይሁዳ እንዲያስተምሩ ከተለኩ፥ “...አዶንያስን፥ ጦብያን፥ ጦባዶንያን ሰደደ ከእነርሱም ጋር ካህናቱን ኤሊሳማንና ኢዮራምን ሰደደ።” (2 ዜና 17:8)
