ሲምሳይ ~Shimshai: ስመ ሽህ፣ ታዋቂ፣ ጥሩ ስም ያለው፣ የተመሰገነ ማለት ነው።

‘ስመ’ እና ‘ሽህ’ ከሚሉ ቃላት የተገኘ ስም ነው።

ከግዞት ሲመለሱ የቤተ መቅደሱን እንደገና መታነጽ ከተቃወሙ፥ ጸሐፊው ሲምሳይ፥ “አዛዡ ሬሁም ጸሐፊውም ሲምሳይ በኢየሩሳሌም ...” (ዕዝ 4:8 ፣ 13 ፣ 17 ፣ 23...) ፣ (ዕዝ 4:7)
