Shobab ~ ሶባብ: “Shobab” means rebellious / SBD, (2 ሳሙ 5:14)

The name ‘Shobab’ is derived from ‘She’abab’ (ሽ’አባብ) ፥ the meaning is ‘very furious’/ Ibid.

One of David's sons by Bathseheba, “And these be the names of those that were born unto him in Jerusalem; Shammuah, and Shobab, and Nathan, and Solomon,” (2 Sam 5:14)

ሶባብ ~Shobab: ሽህ አባብ፣ ሽባብ፣ የሚያባባ፣ አስፈሪ፣ አስጨናቂ ማለት ነው።

‘ሽህ’ እና ‘አባብ’ ከሚሉ ቃላት የተመሠረተ ስም ነው።

በዚህ ስም የሚታወቁ ሁለት ሰዎች አሉ።

1.                  ዳዊት ከኬብሮን ከመጣ በኋላ የተወለደ፥ “ሶባብ፥ ናታን፥ ሰሎሞን፥ ኢያቤሐር፥ ኤሊሱዔ፥” (2 ሳሙ 5:14) ፥

2.                  የኤስሮም ልጅ ካሌብ ከሚስቱ ከዓዙባ የወለደው፥ (1 ዜና 2:18)
