Shobai ~ ሶባይ: “Shobai” means glorious / SBD, (ነህ 7:45)

The name ‘Shobai’ is derived from ‘She’abay’ (ሽ’አባይ) ፥ the meaning is ‘father of a multtude’/ Ibid.

The children of Shobai were a family of the door-keepers of the temple, who returned with Zerubbabel, “The porters: ...of Akkub, the children of Hatita, the children of Shobai, an hundred thirty and eight.” (Neh 7:45)

ሶባይ ~Shobai: ሽህ አባይ፣ የሽህ አባት፣ የብዙዎች አለቃ፣ መሪ ማለት ነው።

የባቢሎን ንጉሥ ናቡከደነፆር ከማረካቸው ምርኮኞች ወደ ኢየሩሳሌምና ወደ ይሁዳ ወደ እየከተማቸው ከተመለሱት የአገር ልጆች፥ “በረኞቹ የሰሎም ልጆች፥ የአጤር ልጆች ...የሶባይ ልጆች፥ መቶ ሠላሳ ስምንት።” (ነህ 7:45) ፣ (ዕዝ 2:42)
