Naaman was commander-in-chief of the army of Syria, and was nearest to the person of the king, “And many lepers were in Israel in the time of ... none of them was cleansed, saving Naaman the Syrian.” (Luk 4:27)

ንዕማን ~Naaman: ናዕማን፣ ነዓምን፣ ማመን፣ መስማማት ማለት ነው። [ተዛማጅ ስሞች- ነሐማኒ፣ ኑኃሚን]

‘አመነ’ ከሚለው ግስ የወጣ ስም ነው።

የሶርያ ንጉሥ ሠራዊት አለቃ፣ በጌታው ዘንድ ታላቅ ክቡር ሰው ነበረ ደግሞም ጽኑዕ ኃያል ነበረ፥ ነገር ግን ለምጻም ነበረ፥ “በነቢዩ በኤልሳዕ ዘመንም በእስራኤል ብዙ ለምጻሞች ነበሩ፥ ከሶርያዊው ከንዕማን በቀር ከእነርሱ አንድ ስንኳ አልነጻም” (ሉቃ 4:27) ፣ (2 ነገ 5:1)
