Mishael ~ ሚሳኤል: Who is like God / EBD; “Mishael” means who is what God is? / SBD, (ዘፍ 6:22)

The name ‘Mishael’ is derived from ‘Mikaiel’ (ሚካኤል) ፥ the meaning is ‘Who is like the almighty’ / Ibid.

One of the sons of Uzziel, the uncle of Aaron and Moses, “And the sons of Uzziel; Mishael, and Elzaphan, and Zithri” (Ex 6:22)

Other people with the same name are: One of those who stood at Ezra’s left hand when he read the law to the people (Neh 8:4), Mishal, or Misheal; “Now among these were of the children of Judah, Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah...” (Dan1:6)

ሚሳኤል ~Mishael: ሚሸል፣ ሚኬል፣ ሚካኤል፣ መልከ ኤል፣ አምላክን የመሰለ ማለት ነው። [ተዛማጅ ስም- ሚሽአል]

‘መልከ’ እና ‘ኤል’ ከሚሉ ቃላት የተገኘ ስም ነው።

በዚህ ስም የሚታወቁ ሦስት ሰዎች አሉ።

1.                  የሙሴ እና የአሮን ወገን የሆነ የዑዝኤል ልጅ፥ ሚሳኤል፥ “የዑዝኤል ልጆች ሚሳኤል፥ ኤልዳፋን፥ ሥትሪ ናቸው።” (ዘፍ 6:22)

2.                  ዕዝራ የህጉን መጽሐፍ ሲያነብ በአጠገቡ ከቆሙት፥ ሚሳኤል፥  (ነህ 8:4)

3.                  ወደ ባቢሎን ከተወሰዱ የእስራኤል ልጆች፥ ሚሳኤል፥ “በእነዚህም መካከል ከይሁዳ ልጆች ዳንኤልና አናንያ ሚሳኤልና አዛርያ ነበሩ።” (ዳን 1:6)
