The root words for ‘Michael’ are ‘Melke’ (መልከ) and ‘El’ (ኤል) ፥ the meaning is ‘who is like the almighty lord’/ Ibid.

An Asherite, father of Sethur, one of the twelve spies, “Of the tribe of Asher, Sethur the son of Michael.” (Num 13:13)

ሚካኤል ~Michael: የአምላክ መላክ እና የአምላክ መልክተኛ የሚሉ መንታ ትርጉሞች አሉት። [ተዛማጅ ስሞች- መልኪኤል፣ መልክያ፣ ሚካያ፣ ሚክያስ]

‘መልከ’ እና ‘ኤል’ ከሚሉ ቃላት የተመሠረተ ስም ሲሆን ትርጉሙ ‘መልከ ኤል’ ሁኖ፥ አምላክን የመሰለ ማለት ነው።  

‘መላከ’ እና ‘ኤል’ ከሚሉ ቃላት የተመሠረተ ስም ሲሆን፥ ትርጉሙ ‘መላከ ኤል’ ሁኖ፣ የጌታ መላክ፣ የአምላክ መልክተኛ፣ የእግዚአብሔር አገልጋይ ማለት ነው።
