Elhanan ~ ኤልያና: God has graciously bestowed / EBD, (2 ሳሙ 21፡19)

The root words for ‘Elhanan’ are ‘El’ (ኤል) and ‘Hanan’ (ሐናን)፥ The meaning is ‘the lord of Hana’/ Ibid.

A distinguished warrior in the time of King David, “... where Elhanan the son of Jaareoregim, a Bethlehemite, slew the brother of Goliath the Gittite ...” (2 Sam 21:19; 1 Chr 20:5)

The other person with the same name: One of "the thirty" of David’s guard, and named first on the list (2 Sa 23:24; 1 Ch 11:26)

ኤልያና ~Elhanan: ኤል ሐናን፣ የእግዚአብሔር ብሩክ፣ የአምላክ ጸጋ፣ ትሁት፣ አምላከ ሐናን ማለት ነው።

‘ኤል’ እና ‘ሐናን’ ከሚሉ ሁለት ቃላት የተመሠረተ ስም ነው።

በዚህ ስም የሚታወቁ ሁለት ሰዎች አሉ።

1.                  በዳዊ ጭፍሮች ዘንድ ከነበሩት ኃያል፥ የየዓሬ ኦርጊ ልጅ፥ “ደግሞም በጎብ ላይ ከፍልስጥኤማውያን ጋር ሰልፍ ነበረ የቤተ ልሔማዊውም የየዓሬኦርጊም ልጅ ኤልያናን የጦሩ የቦ እንደ ሸማኔ መጠቅለያ የነበረውን የጌት ሰው ጎልያድን ገደለ።” (2ሳሙ 21፡19)

2.                  በዳዊ ጭፍሮች ዘንድ ከነበሩት ኃያል፥ የዱዲ ልጅ፥ (2 ሳሙ 23:24 ፣ 25)፣ (1 ዜና 11:26)
