Ebenezer ~ አቤንኤዘር: “Ebenezer” means stone of help / SBD, (1 ሳሙ 7፡7-12)

The name ‘Ebenezer’ is derived from ‘Abne’ (አበነ) and ‘Zer’ (ዘር) ፥ the meaning is ‘supported by the father’ / Ibid.

The memorial stone set up by Samuel, “Then Samuel took a stone, and set it between Mizpeh and Shen, and called the name of it Ebenezer, saying, Hitherto hath the LORD helped us.” (1 Sam 7:7-12)

‘አብነ’ እና ‘ዘር’ ከሚሉ ሁለት ቃላት የተመሠረተ ነው።

እስራኤል ከፍልስጥኤማውያን ጋር ሊዋጉ የወጡበት ቦታ፥ “ሳሙኤልም አንድ ድንጋይ ወስዶ በምጽጳና በሼን መካከል አኖረው ስሙንም። እስከ አሁን ድረስ እግዚአብሔር ረድቶናል ሲል አቤንኤዘር ብሎ ጠራው።” (1ሳሙ7፡7-12)
