Bethaven ~ ቤትአዌን: “Bethaven” means house of nothingness, i.e. of idols / SBD, (ኢያ 7፡2)

The name ‘Bethaven’ is derived from ‘Biet’ (ቤት) and ‘Hewan’ (ሂዋን) ፥ the meaning is ‘house of the living’ / Ibid.

A place on the mountains of Benjamin, east of Bethel, “And Joshua sent men from Jericho to Ai, which is beside Bethaven...” (Jos 7:2)

ቤትአዌን ~Beth-aven: ቤተ ህይዋን፣ የቅዱሳን ወገን፣ የጻድቃን ቦታ፣ አጸደ ህያዋን ማለት ነው።

Beth-aven-‘ቤት’ እና ‘ህያዋን’ ከሚሉ ሁለት ቃላት የተመሠረተ ስም ነው።

ከቤቴል በምሥራቅ በኩል የሚገኝ ቦታ ስም፥ “ኢያሱም ከቤቴል በምሥራቅ በኩል በቤትአዌን አጠገብ ወዳለችው...” (ኢያ 7:2)
