Cainan ~ ቃይናን: The name “Cainan” means possessor; purchaser / HBN, (ዘፍ 5፡9-14)

The name ‘Cainan’ is derived from ‘Qeniyan’ (ቅነያን) ፥ the root word is ‘Qen’ (ቅን) ፥ the meaning is ‘man from cain’/ Ibid.

Son of Enos, “And Enos lived ninety years, and begat Cainan” (Gen 5:9-14), He is also called Kenan (1 Chr 1:2)

ቃይናን ~Cainan, Kenan: ቃየንዓውያን፣ የቃየን ወገኖች ማለት ነው።

I.                        ቃይናን /Cainan:

1.                  የሄኖስ ልጅ፥ “ሄኖስም መቶ ዘጠና ዓመት ኖረ፥ ቃይናንንም ወለደ” (ዘፍ 5፡9-14)

2.                  በሉቃስ ወንጌል ሰለጌታ የዘር ሐረግ የተጠቀሰ፣ የአርፋክስድ ልጅ፥  (ሉቃ 3:36)

II.                        ቃይናን /Kenan: ከአዳም ሶስተኛ ትውልድ የሆነ፥ “አዳም፥ ሴት፥ ሄኖስ፥ ቃይናን፥ መላልኤል፥” (1 ዜና 1:2)
