Cushi ~ ኩሲ: Properly "the Cushite," "the Ethiopian / SBN, (2 ሳሙ 18፡21)

The name ‘Cushi’ is derived from ‘Kashi’ (ካሺ ፣ ካሳ) ፥ the meaning is ‘A person who does the compensation’; it is also means ‘man of cush’/ Ibid.

Properly "the Cushite," "the Ethiopian," a man apparently attached to Joab's person, “Then said Joab to Cushi, Go tell the king what thou hast seen. And Cushi bowed himself unto Joab, and ran.” (2 Sam 18:21)

ኩሲ ~Cushi: ኩሺ፣ ካሺ፣ ካሽ፣ ካሳ የሚከፍል፣ ኩሻዊ፣ ኢትዮጵያዊ ማለት ነው። [ተዛማጅ ስሞች- ኵሲ፣ ኩሽ]

Cushi- ‘ካሺ’ ከሚለው ቃል የመጣ ስም ነው።

በዚህ ስም የሚታወቁ ሁለት ሰዎች አሉ ። 

1.የዳዊት ወዳጅ አርካዊው ኩሲ፥ “ዳዊትም ለእግዚአብሔር ወደ ሰገደበት ወደ ተራራው ራስ በመጣ ጊዜ፥ አርካዊው ኩሲ ልብሱን ቀድዶ ...መጣ።” (2 ሳሙ 15:32)

2.ወደ  ንጉሥ ዳዊት ኢዮአብ የላከው ልጅ፥ “ኢዮአብም ኵሲን፦ ...” (2 ሳሙ 18፡21)
