Coffer ~ ሣጥን: The receptacle or small box / EBD (1 ሳሙ 6፡8፣ 11፣ 15)

 A movable box hanging from the side of a cart “And take the ark of the LORD, and lay it upon the cart; and put the jewels of gold, which ye return him for a trespass offering, in a coffer by the side thereof; and send it away, that it may go.” (1 Sam 6:8, 11, 15)

ሣጥን ~Coffer, Coffin: ከፈን፣ መጠቅለያ፣ መሸፈኛ፣ መቅበርያ ሳጥን ማለት ነው።

Coffin -‘ከፈነ’ ከሚለው ግስ የተገኘ ስም ነው።

I.                        ሣጥን /Coffer: የንዋየ ቅዱሳን ማስቀመጫ፥“የእግዚአብሔርንም ታቦት ወስዳችሁ በሰረገላው ላይ አኑሩት ስለ በደልም መሥዋዕት ያቀረባችሁትን የወርቁን ዕቃ በሣጥን ውስጥ አድርጋችሁ በታቦቱ አጠገብ አኑሩት ...” (1 ሳሙ 6፡8፣ 11፣ 15)

II.                        ሣጥን /Coffin: ዮሴፍ በግብጽ በሞተ ጊዜ በድኑ የተቀመጠበት ቦታ፥ “ዮሴፍም በመቶ አሥር ዓመት ዕድሜው ሞተ በሽቱም አሹት፥ በግብፅ ምድር በሣጥን ውስጥ አኖሩት።” (ዘፍ 50፡26)
