Ahaziah ~ አካዝያስ: held by Jehovah / EBD, (2 ዜና 20፡35)

The name ‘Ahaziah’ is derived from two words ‘Yaze’ (ያዘ) and ‘Yah’ (ያህ) ፥ the meaning is ‘held by Jehovah’ / Ibid.

The son and successor of Ahab, “... with Ahaziah king of Israel, who did very wickedly” (2 Chr 20:35-37), (2 Kin 8:24-29; 9:29)

The other person with the same name: The son of Joram, or Jehoram, and sixth king of Judah; Called Jehoahaz (2 Chr 21:17; 25:23), and Azariah; (2 Chr 22:6)

አካዝያስ ~Ahaziah: አያዝ ያህ፣ ያዘ ያህ፣ በጌታ የተያዘ፣ አምላክ የጠበቀው፣ በጌታ እጅ ያለ፣ አምላክን ያመነ ማለት ነው።

Ahaziah- ‘አሃዘ’ እና ‘ያህ’ (ያህዌ) ከሚሉ ሁለት ቃላት የተመሠረተ ስም ነው።

በዚህ ስም የሚታወቁ ሁለት ሰዎች አሉ።

1.                  የአክዓብ ልጅ፥ “አክዓብም ከአባቶቹ ጋር አንቀላፋ፥ በእርሱም ፋንታ ልጁ አካዝያስ ነገሠ” (1 ነገ 22:40)፣ (2 ዜና 20፡35)

2.                  የኢዮራም ልጅ ፥ (2 ነገ 8:24-29 ፣ 9:29)፣ (2 ዜና 21:17፥ 25:23)፣ (2 ዜና 22:6)
