Ahab ~ አክዓብ: The name “Ahab” means uncle, or father's brother / HBN, (1 ነገ 16፡28)

The name ‘Ahab’ is derived from two words ‘Aya’ (አያ) and ‘Ab’ (አብ) ፥ the meaning is ‘father's brother, uncle’ / Ibid.

The son of Omri, whom he succeeded as the seventh king of Israel; “So Omri ... buried in Samaria: and Ahab his son reigned in his stead.” (1 kin 16:28)

The other person with the same name: A false prophet referred to by Jeremiah (Jer 29:21), of whom nothing further is known;

Ahab- ‘አያ’ እና ‘አብ’ ከሚሉ ሁለት ቃላት የተመሠረተ ስም ነው።

1.                  የዘንበሪ ልጅ፣ በእስራኤል ላይ በአባቱ ፋንታ የነገሰ፥ “ዘንበሪም ከአባቶቹ ጋር አንቀላፋ፥ በሰማርያም ተቀበረ ልጁም አክዓብ በፋንታው ነገሠ።” (1 ነገ 16፡28)
