The name ‘Adoniram’ is derived from two words ‘Adany’ (አዳኝ) and ‘Rama`’ (ረማ) ፥ the meaning is ‘the highest saviour’ / Ibid.

 “... and Adoniram the son of Abda was over the tribute.” (1 kin 4:6)

The other person with the same name: Chief receiver of the tribute during the reigns of David, “And Adoram was over the tribute: and Jehoshaphat the son of Ahilud was recorder” (2 Sam 20፡24)
