Jordan ~ ዮርዳኖስ: “Jordan” means the descender / SBD, (ማቴ 3:5)

The name ‘Jordan’ is derived from ‘Ywrd’ (ይወርድ) ፥ the meaning is ‘coming down’ / Ibid.

The river flows through a long, low plain called "the region of Jordan", “Then went out to him Jerusalem, and all Judaea, and the entire region round about Jordan,” (Mat 3:5)

ዮርዳኖስ ~Jordan: ይወርድነ፣ ከላይ የወረደ፣ ከላይ የመጣ ማለት ነው።

‘ወረደ’ ከሚለው ግስ የተገኘ ስም ነው።
