Jehovah-shalom ~ እግዚአብሔር ሰላም: Jehovah send peace / EBD, (መሣ 6:24)

The root words for ‘Jehovah-shalom’ are ‘Yahwie’ (ያህዌ) and ‘Selam’ (ሰላም) ፥ the meaning is ‘peace of Jehovah’/ Ibid.

The name which Gideon gave to the altar he erected on the spot at Ophrah where the angel appeared to him, “Then Gideon built an altar there unto the LORD, and called it Jehovahshalom: unto this day it is yet in Ophrah of the Abiezrites” (Jud 6:24)

እግዚአብሔርሰላም ~Jehovah-shalom: ህያው ሰላም፣ ዘላለማዊ ደህንነት፣ የአምላክ ሰላም ማለት ነው።

Jehovah- ‘ያህዌ’ ከሚለው ቃል የመጣ ስም ነው። shalom- ‘ሻሎም’ ደግም ሰላም ከሚለው ነው።

ጌዴዎን ለእግዚአብሔር የሰራው መሠዊያ ስም፥ “ጌዴዎንም በዚያ ለእግዚአብሔር መሠዊያ ሠራ፥ ስሙንም። እግዚአብሔር ሰላም ብሎ ጠራው። እርሱም እስከ ዛሬ ድረስ ለአቢዔዝራውያን በምትሆነው በዖፍራ አለ።” (መሣ 6:24)
