Jaazaniah ~ ያእዛንያ: Heard by Jehovah / EBD; the name “Jaazaniah” means whom the Lord will hear / HBN, (ኤር 35፡3)

The name ‘Jaazaniah’ is derived from ‘Yazne’ (ያዝነ) and ‘Yah’ (ያህ) ፥ the meaning is ‘Heard by Jehovah’ / Ibid

The son of Jeremiah, and one of the chief Rechabites, “Then I took Jaazaniah the son of Jeremiah, the son of Habaziniah ...” (Jer 35:3)

Other people with the same name are: One of the captains of the forces who accompanied Hohanan ben-Kareah to pay his respects to Gedaliah at Mizpah (2 Kin 25:23) Comp. (Jer 41:11; 43:4, 5); Son of Shaphan; (Ezr 8:11) It is possible that he is identical with Son of Azur; One of the princes of the people against whom Ezekiel was directed to prophesy (Eze 11:1)

ያእዛንያ ~Jaazaniah: ያዝን ያህ፣ አምላክ ያዘነለት፣ እግዚአብሔር ፀሎቱን የሰማው ማለት ነው።

‘አዘነ’ እና ‘ያህ’(ያህዌ ፣ ህያው) ከሚሉ ቃላት የተመሠረተ ስም ነው።

በዚህ ስም የሚታወቁ አምስት ሰዎች አሉ ።

1.                  የኤርምያስ ልጅ፥ “የከባስንን ልጅ የኤርምያስን ልጅ ያእዛንያን ወንድሞቹንም ልጆቹንም ሁሉ የሬካባውያንን ወገን ሁሉ ወሰድኋቸው” (ኤር 35፡3)

2.                  የሆሻያ ልጅ፥ (ኤር 42፡1)

3.                  የማዕካታዊው ልጅ፥ (2 ነገ 25:23)

4.                  የሳፋን ልጅ፥ (ሕዝ 8:11)

5.                  የዓዙርን ልጅ፥ (ሕዝ 11:1)
