The name ‘Immanuel’ is derived from ‘Amane’ (አማነ) and ‘El’ (ኤል) ፥ the meaning is ‘peace with the almighty lord’ / Ibid.

The title applied by the apostle Matthew to the Messiah, born of the Virgin, “Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel” (Mat 1:23; Isa 7:14)

አማኑኤል ~Emmanuel, Immanuel: አማኑ ኤል፣ አማነ ኤል፣ የአምላክ ሰላም፣ የእግዚአብሔር እርቅ፣ የጌታ አንድነት ማለት ነው።

‘አማነ’ እና ’ኤል’ ከሚሉ ሁለት ቃላት የተመሠረተ ስም ነው።

v    አማኑኤል /Emmanuel: በአዲስ ኪዳን የትንቢቱን መፈጸም ሲያበስር፥“እነሆ፥ ድንግል ትፀንሳለች ልጅም ትወልዳለች፥ ስሙንም አማኑኤል ይሉታል የተባለው ይፈጸም ዘንድ ይህ ሁሉ ሆኖአል፥ ትርጓሜውም። እግዚአብሔር ከእኛ ጋር የሚል ነው” (ማቴ 1፡23)
