The name ‘Ishbah’ is derived from ‘Yeshi’ (የሽ) and ‘Yah’ (ያህ) ፥ the meaning is ‘Jehovah of thousands’ / Ibid.

The fifth of the five sons of Izrahiah, one of the heads of the tribe of Issachar in the time of David, “... the sons of Izrahiah; Michael, and Obadiah, and Joel, Ishiah, five: all of them chief men.” (1 Chr 7:3)

ይሺያ ~Ishiah, Ishijah, Isshiab, Jesiah: የሽህ ያህ፣ የብዙዎች ጌታ፣ የሽዎች አምላክ ማለት ነው።

‘ሽህ’ እና ‘ያህ’(ያህዌ ፣ ህያው) ከሚሉ ቃላት የተመሠረተ ስም ነው።

በዚህ ስም የሚታወቁ አምስት ሰዎች አሉ ።

I.                        ይሺያ /Ishiah: የይዝረሕያ ልጅ፥ “የኦዚም ልጆች ይዝረሕያ የይዝረሕያም ልጆች ሚካኤል፥ አብድዩ፥ ኢዮኤል፥ ይሺያ አምስት ናቸው ...” (1 ዜና 7፡3)

II.                        ይሺያ /Ishijah: በዕዝራ ዘመን እንግዳ ሚስቶችን እንዲፈቱ ከተደረጉት፥ (ዕዝ 10፡31)

III.                        ይሺያ /Isshiah:

1.                  የረዓብያ ልጅ፥ (1 ዜና 24:21-22)

2.                  የሚካ ወንድም፥ (1 ዜና 24:26)

IV.                        ይሺያ /Jesiah: የዑዝኤል ልጅ፥ “የዑዝኤል ልጆች አለቃው ሚካ፥ ሁለተኛው ይሺያ ነበሩ።” (1 ዜና 23:20)
