The name ‘Isshiah’ is derived from ‘Yeshi’ (የሽ) and ‘Yah’ (ያህ)፥ the meaning is ‘Jehovah of thousands’ / Ibid.

A descendant of Moses by his younger son Eliezer, “Concerning Rehabiah: of the sons of Rehabiah, the first was Isshiah,” (1 Chr 24:21)

‘ሽህ’ እና ‘ያህ’(ያህዌ ፣ ህያው) ከሚሉ ቃላት የተመሠረተ ስም ነው።

በዚህ ስም የሚታወቁ አምስት ሰዎች አሉ ።

I.                        ይሺያ /Ishiah: የይዝረሕያ ልጅ፥ “የኦዚም ልጆች ይዝረሕያ የይዝረሕያም ልጆች ሚካኤል፥ አብድዩ፥ ኢዮኤል፥ ይሺያ አምስት ናቸው ...” (1 ዜና 7፡3)

II.                        ይሺያ /Ishijah: በዕዝራ ዘመን እንግዳ ሚስቶችን እንዲፈቱ ከተደረጉት፥ (ዕዝ 10፡31)
