Benjamin ~ ብንያም: The name “Benjamin” means son of the right hand / HBN, (ዘፍ 35፡18)

The name ‘Benjamin’ is derived from ‘Bien’ (ቤን) and ‘Yamn’ (ያምን) ፥ the meaning is ‘son of the faithful’ / Ibid.

The youngest of the children of Jacob; “And it came to pass, as her soul was in departing, that she called his name Benoni: but his father called him Benjamin.” (Gen 35:16, 18)

Other people with the same name are: A man of the tribe of Benjamin, son of bilhan, and the head of a family of warriors (1 Chr 7:10); One of the "sons of Harim," an Israelite in the time of Ezra who had married a foreign wife (Ezr 10:32)

‘ቤን’ እና ‘ያምን’ ከሚሉ ሁለት ቃላት የተመሠረተ ስም ነው።

2.                  የጦር አዛዥ የነበረ፣ የቢልሐን ልጅ፥ (1 ዜና 7:10)

3.                  በዕዝራ ዘመን እንግዳ ሚስት ካገቡ፣ የካሪም ልጅ፥ (ዕዝ 10:32)
