Bar-jesus ~ በርያሱስ: The name “Barjesus” means son of Jesus or Joshua / HBN, (ሥራ 13፡6)

The root words for ‘Barjesus’ are ‘Bar’ (በር) and ‘Jesus’ (ኢያሱ) ፥ the meaning is ‘son of Jesus’/ Ibid.

በርያሱስ ~Bar-jesus: በረ እያሱ፣ ልጅ እያሱ፣ ወልደ ኢየሱስ፣ ያዳኝ ልጅ፣ የጌታ ወገን ማለት ነው።

‘በር’ ፣ ‘የሽ’ እና ‘ዋስ’(ኢያሱ ፣ ኢየሱስ) ከሚሉ ስሞች የተመሠረተ ቃል ነው ።

አገረ ገዡን ከማመን ሊያጣምም ፈልጎ የተቃወማቸው፥ “...በርያሱስ የሚሉትን ጠንቋይና ሐሰተኛ ነቢይ የሆነውን አንድ አይሁዳዊ ሰው አገኙ” (ሥራ 13፡6)
