Barachias ~ በራክዩ: Whom Jehovah hath blessed / EBD, (ኢሳ 8:2)

The name is ‘Barachias’ derived from two words ‘Bereke’ (በረከ) and ‘Was’ (ዋስ) ፥ the meaning is ‘that bows before the savior’ / Ibid.

Father of the prophet Zechariah, “... from the blood of righteous Abel unto the blood of Zacharias son of Barachias, whom ye slew between the temple and the altar” (Mat 23:35)

በራክዩ ~Barachias, Berechiah: ብሩክ ዋስ፣ ብሩክ አምላክ፣ አምላክ የባረከው ማለት ነው። [ተዛማጅ ስሞች- በራኪያ፣ በራክያ፣ ባርክኤል፣ ባሮክ]

Barachias -‘በረከ’ እና ‘ዋስ’ ከሚሉ ቃላት የተመሠረተ ስም ነው።

Berechiah -‘በረከ’ እና ‘ያህ’ (ያህዌ) ከሚሉ ቃላት የተመሠረተ ስም ነው።

 በዚህ ስም የሚታወቁ ሁለት ሰዎች አሉ።

I.                        በራክዩ /Barachias: “ከጻድቁ ከአቤል ደም ጀምሮ በቤተ መቅደስና በመሠዊያው መካከል እስከ ገደላችሁት እስከ በራክዩ ልጅ እስከ ዘካርያስ  ...” (ማቴ 23፡35)
