The name ‘Beer’ is derived from the root word ‘Ber’ (በር) ፥ the meaning is ‘door, enterance, gate...’ / Ibid.

One of the latest halting-places of the Israelites, lying beyond the Arnon, “And from thence they went to Beer: that is the well whereof the LORD Spake unto Moses, Gather the people together ...” (Num 21:16-18)

The other place with the same name: A town in the tribe of Judah to which Jotham fled for fear of Abimelech (Jud 9:21)

በዚህ ስም የሚታወቁ ሁለት ቦታዎች አሉ።

1.                  የእስራኤልም ልጆች ከተጓዙባቸው፥ “ከዚያም ወደ ብኤር ተጓዙ ይኸውም እግዚአብሔር ሙሴን፦ ሕዝቡን ሰብስብ ውኃንም እሰጣቸዋለሁ ብሎ የተናገረለት ጕድጓድ ነው።” (ዘኁ 21፡16-18)

2.                  ኢዮአታም ወንድሙን አቤሜሌክን ፈርቶ የሸሸበት፥ (መሣ 9:21)
